Questo evento rappresenta un’opportunità senza pari per avere esperienza con altri praticanti del sistema WSLVT. Sifu David Peterson si allena nelle arti marziali Cinesi dal 1973. Eʼ diventato studente di Sigung Wong Shun Leung dopo essere andato ad Hong Kong nel 1983. Sifu David Peterson è uno dei due soli istruttori qualificati del sistema Wong in Australia, autorizzato personalmente da Sigung Wong prima della sua morte, ed è membro pienamente approvato della Associazione mondiale “Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) Martial Arts Association” e della “Hong Kong -based “Ving Tsun Athletic Association”. La WSLSA lo ha chiaramente riconosciuto come discepolo di 1à generazione di Sigung Wong. Parla benissimo entrambi e dialetti cinesi, Mandarino e Cantonese ed ha tradotto tutti i seminari condotti in Australia dal suo insegnante, Wong Shun Leung. Ha tradotto, dal Cinese originale allʼInglese, lʼarticolo scritto da Sigung Wong “Quello che ho imparato attraverso i beimo”. Eʼ anche uno giornalista indipendente i cui articoli sono stati pubblicati in molte riviste Australiane e dʼoltreoceano. Nel 1998 Sifu Jesse Glover, il primo studente dello scomparso Bruce Lee, ha invitato Sifu Peterson per la prima volta in America ad insegnare sia a Seattle che a Los Angeles. Nel Novembre 1999 è stato invitato a parlare al “1st World-wide Ving Tsun Conference” in Hong Kong, per presentare il suo punto di vista sul futuro del Wing Chun. Nel 2000 è tornato in America per la seconda volta a condurre seminari e corsi avanzati al “Ving Tsun Museum” di Daytona, Ohio, e in Orlando e Fort Myers, Florida, per un entusiastico gruppo di praticanti di Wing Chun e di JKD. Sifu Peterson è lʼautore di “Look Beyond the Pointing Finger: the Combat Philosofy of Wong Shun Leung”, il primo libro in assoluto in lingua inglese altamente considerato per lʼinterpretazione del suo insegnante sul sistema del Wing Chun; prima pubblicazione Settembre 2001, estesa seconda edizione nel 2008 e terza edizione Limitata con copertina rigida nel 20013. Eʼ autore dei DVD sulle forme “Siu Nim Tau”, “Cham Kiu” and “Muk Yan Jong” del WSLVT che sono universalmente acclamati come riferimenti del genere. Precisiamo che sarà assolutamente vietato l’uso di Videocamere/Fotocamere/Smartphone durante il seminario. A chiunque effettui riprese, indipendentemente dalla distanza che hanno viaggiato per partecipare, verrà chiesto di lasciare il seminario con effetto immediato. Ci sarà ovviamente la possibilità di fare foto solo alla fine di ogni giornata.

This represents an unpa- rallelled opportunity for training with other WSLVT quality practitioners. Sifu David Peterson, 56, has been training in the Chinese martial arts since 1973. He became a student of Sifu Wong Shun Leung after travelling to Hong Kong in 1983. Sifu David Peterson is one of only two qualified instructors of Wongʼs system in Austra- lia, authorised by Sigung Wong personally before his death, and a fully endorsed member of the world-wide “Wong Shun Leung Ving Tsun (Wing Chun) Martial Arts Association and the Hong Kong -based “Ving Tsun Athletic Association”. Sifu Peterson is a speaker of both the Mandarin and Cantonese dialects and interpreted for his teacher whenever Sifu Wong conducted seminars in Australia. He translated the Sigung Wong article “What I have learned through beimo” from the original Chinese to English. He is also a freelance writer whose articles have appeared in many Australian and overseas journals. In 1998, Sifu Peterson was invited to America for the first time by Sifu Jesse Glover, the late Bruce Leeʼs original student, teaching in both Seattle and Los Angeles. In November 1999, Peterson was a guest presenter at the “1st World Ving Tsun Conference” in Hong Kong, presenting his views on the future of the Wing Chun system. A highly respected seminar presenter of the “WSL Method” of Wing Chun, both in Australia and overseas, Peterson travelled to the USA for a second time in 2000 to conduct seminars and workshops at the “Ving Tsun Museum” in Dayton, Ohio, and to an entthusiastic group of Wing Chun and JKD enthusiasts in Orlando and Fort Myers, Florida. Peterson is the author of ʻLook Beyond the Pointing Finger: the Combat Philosophy of Wong Shun Leungʼ, the highly regarded first-ever English language book on his teacherʼs interpretation of the Wing Chun system, first published in September of 2001, in an Expanded 2nd Edition (2008), and soon as a Special Limited Hardcover Collectorʼs Edition (2013), as well as DVDs on the ʻSiu Nim Tauʼ, Cham Kiuʼ and ʻMuk Yan Jongʼ forms of ʻWSLVTʼ which are universally hailed as benchmarks in the genre. Please note that it will absolutely forbidden to use Camcorders / Cameras / Smartphone during the seminar. For anyone who carries shooting, regardless of the distance they have traveled to attend, will be asked to leave the seminar with immediate effect. There will of course be the opportunity to take pictures at the end of each day.

Great seminar in Rome with Sifu John Smith, my WSL Ving Tsun uncle – Sisok. Sifu John Smith teaches the Wong Shun Leung method of Ving Tsun Kung Fu and commenced training with Wong Shun Leung in 1991, and continued to do so until Wong Sifu’s untimely death. Sifu John continues to pass on what was taught to him by Wong Shun Leung in an un-diluted manner. He founded the Illawarra Ving Tsun School in 1992 and teaches a loyal following of students with in the Wollongong and Kiama areas of New South Wales, Australia. John has given countless seminars and workshops in not only Australia, but also on numerous occasions in Asia and Europe to appreciative audiences, for those that are prepared to listen to his understanding of Wong Shun Leung’s teachings. In his last world tour, after seminars in London, Manchester, Denmark and Toronto.
